Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas (born on 13 October 1980, Glen Cove, Long Island, New York, USA) is an American singer, songwriter and musician best known for her debut Grammy winning album "Ashanti" and its smash hit single "Foolish". Up to now she has released 4 studio albums, selling over 15 million records worldwide.
She also acted in several movies and TV series, most notably "Coach Carter", "John Tucker Must Die", and "Resident Evil: Extinction".
