FAMTIC / EARLY GROWERS PROGRAM

Built with growers.
Not just for them.

You know your garden. We’re building what comes next. Bring your hands-on experience, honest questions and practical ideas to the future of intelligent plant care.

Research · Co-design · Selected prototype trials

01 / THREE WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE

Your experience.
A better starting point.

Choose the activities that interest you. You do not need to join every track, and research participation does not depend on receiving a device.

01
Grower research

Share your everyday reality.

Tell us how you grow, where routines become difficult, and what you have already tried.

Conversations and surveys, scheduled together.

02
Product co-design

Shape what we build.

Discuss ideas, compare approaches and tell us which trade-offs would actually matter in your garden.

Private discussions and concept feedback.

03
Early prototype trials

Try. Observe. Help improve.

Selected participants may try an early demo device without a prototype purchase fee and share structured feedback.

Invitation only. Timing and conditions vary by study.

02 / WHO WE HOPE TO MEET

Real growing experience.
Thoughtful, honest feedback.

Experienced home growers, dedicated hobbyists and horticulture practitioners are welcome. A professional title or a social following is not required. We care about the detail you notice and the problems you can help us understand.

Not growing right now? You can still express interest in research or co-design. Prototype suitability is assessed separately.

You grow, observe and adapt.

Vegetable beds, containers, small greenhouses and other home-scale gardens all bring useful perspectives.

You can tell us what happened.

Specific examples, including unsuccessful attempts, are more useful than polished praise.

You are curious about new tools.

You are interested in how AI and connected devices could support real routines—not only in getting hardware.

You can participate responsibly.

Prototype trials need a suitable site, agreed check-ins and the ability to follow instructions and pause a trial if something seems wrong.

03 / WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

A conversation before
a commitment.

01

Tell us about your garden.

Complete the application. Choose your interests and share one real growing challenge.

02

We look for a relevant fit.

We consider experience, study needs, location, season and availability—not follower counts.

03

Discuss an invitation.

If there is a match, we explain the activity, time, data use and any trial conditions. You choose whether to participate.

04

Learn and build together.

Share candid observations. Participation does not require praise, a purchase or a public review.

04 / YOUR APPLICATION

Tell us what you grow.
And what could work better.

A short application in four steps. Your answers help us match you with the right kind of study. No product purchase or social following required.

FAQ

Before you apply.

Will everyone receive a free device?

No. Interviews, co-design and prototype trials are separate activities. Devices are offered only to selected trial participants when an appropriate prototype and study are ready. There is no public shipment date or first-come guarantee.

Do I need to be a professional gardener or an influencer?

No. Hands-on experience, clear observations and a genuine interest in improving the product matter more than a job title or audience size. There is no requirement to post on social media or leave a positive review.

Can I apply from outside the United States?

Yes. You can express interest from any region. Remote research and hardware trials have different requirements; available locations, languages, season and logistics are confirmed for each study. An application does not imply worldwide sample shipping.

How much time would I need?

That depends on the activity. Interviews and co-design discussions are scheduled together. Any prototype invitation explains the testing period and expected check-ins before you agree. You can apply for research without committing to a hardware trial.

What does a free prototype trial include?

There is no prototype purchase fee for selected testers. We will explain whether the device is loaned or kept, delivery and import costs if any, return arrangements and support before you accept. Applying here is not an order and does not require a payment or deposit.

Can I share prototypes or use them while away?

Early devices may be unfinished and are not a promise of unattended reliability. Any safety, supervision and confidentiality requirements will be explained in the individual trial invitation. Do not publish confidential designs or use a prototype beyond its agreed test instructions.

What information do you need now?

Only contact details, a broad region, garden experience and participation preferences. We do not ask for a street address, identification documents, photographs of children or device credentials. Any later interview recording or public use of photos needs a separate agreement.

What happens if I am not selected, or change my mind?

There may not be a matching study immediately, and not every application receives an invitation. Participation is voluntary. Use the live privacy contact to request withdrawal or deletion; any applicable retention rules are explained before live applications are collected.
